Dear Theophilus,
This Sunday, May 27 2012 is Pentecost Sunday. And what a fitting if slightly daunting day for me to commence my role as Extraordinary Communion Minister in my Parish?
I had the very great privilege, honour and blessing to be born into a Roman Catholic family. Further to this, despite years of being tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the
wickedness of men, by cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive (Ephesians 4:14), I have always heard and heeded the call from Our Lord, to return to His One holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
In writing here, I do not profess to be anything more than a lay person who desires to know and love the fullness of God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
I feel a compulsion to share my experiences as I have travelled a faith journey which, while always ending in the same earthly space of Our Lord's Holy Church, the person returning is a greater lover of God and a better man.
Primarily, I am writing this for myself... and perhaps my family, which does not share quite the same ecstatic joy I feel to be a part of the Body of Christ on earth. Especially my son, who at 17... is... well... 17!
Theophilus, if you are out there and wish to share in my journey, please contribute to my thoughts and growth as a child of God. If you find value in my thoughts, references, journey; take it in the spirit with which it is given... that Spirit of Love which comes from and is a part of the One True God, Yahweh.
